The satellite image taken soon after the blast showed it had formed a giant crater, buildings were razed to the ground and a ship had capsized nearby. This destruction was caused when 2,750 tonnes of stored and unsafe ammonium nitrate exploded, killing at least 137 people and injuring about 5,000.
